How do revolutions in scientific or domain knowledge happen? What is the role of exaptation (a term from evolutionary biology) in disrupting current paradigms? How might we wake up sleeping beauties by embracing interdisciplinary (some say anti disciplinary) collaboration?
For a bit of fun I used a generative AI tool called “Heygen” to automatically convert this talk (and try to convert my mouth movements to match) into alternative languages. The functionality is in beta. How did it do? Alas I do not naturally speak these languages and have enough trouble with English at times;)
